Show home opens with Spook-tacular event
31 October 2018
Three show homes on the Hampton Green development by one of the UK’s leading new homes builders, have been officially launched by pupils from a local primary school in a Halloween themed event.
The involvement of the school children in the opening follows on from close working between developer Keepmoat Homes and Coxhoe Primary School in recent months. Through Keepmoat’s involvement the children have been involved in a wildlife post competition and a health and safety tool talk. Keepmoat are currently supporting the school on the future development of an outdoor learning area.
The development by Keepmoat Homes, will feature 190 new two, three and four bedroom homes when it is complete in 2023.
There will be 152 homes for sale, 12 for shared ownership sale and 26 available for rent through local housing association Karbon Homes.
In addition to working with local schools, Keepmoat has also supported local student Oreoluwa Okunuga, a fourth year Construction Project Management student at Northumbria University offering him a placement for his final year and the role of trainee site manager. Oreoluwa lives in the neighbouring village of Bowburn.
Ian Prescott, Land and Partnerships Director for Keepmoat Homes said ahead of the event:
“The opening of this show home is a key point in this developments lifecycle. In recent years we have carried out 5 very successful developments for first time buyers, growing families and down sizers in Bowburn and are pleased to now be able to make this offer in a neighbouring village.
“At Keepmoat Homes we believe there is more to what we do than building new homes, we believe to do that well we have to become part of and support the local community. Therefore I’m delighted that we were able to have pupils from Coxhoe Primary School open our new show home today and be part of our special Halloween themed event for them. We are also pleased to have been able to offer Oreoluwa a work placement.”
