New phase brings 450 homes to Roman Fields in Peterborough

16 May 2018

Keepmoat Homes has officially launched the second phase of its Roman Fields development on Manor Drive in Peterborough, which will bring over 450 new homes to the area.

The homebuilder unveiled two new show homes for the site, with first-time buyers Jake and Rachel Musson, who have purchased a new home at Roman Fields, cutting the ribbon.

Planning permission for phase two of the site was granted in August 2017, with work beginning in September. Demand for the properties is high with 24 homes sold and 49 plots already reserved.

The first phase of work at Roman Fields brought 87 new homes to the area, all of which are now occupied.

The second phase is being built by Keepmoat in a partnership with a land consortium made up of Church Commissioners, Homes England and TWC.

“Roman Fields is a really popular place to live for a number of reasons,” said Mick O’Farrell, Regional Managing Director for Keepmoat Homes in the South.

“It is based five miles from the city and the train station, which is great for commuters, but it is also close to local amenities including shops and schools.

“The homes are ideal for people wanting to get their foot onto the property ladder as they are high quality but also available at prices people can afford. In fact 72% of all Keepmoat Homes are sold to first-time buyers.

“We were delighted to be joined by Jake and Rachel for the opening. They are purchasing their first home at Roman Fields, which only goes to illustrate how we are helping people in the South take their first step on the property ladder.”

Jake, 27 and Rachel, 28 had rented a nearby property for four years whilst saving to buy their own home. They purchased their home at Roman Fields using the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.

Jake said: “We chose to live at Roman Fields after visiting the homes of friends who lived on phase one of the development and hearing about the great experience they’d had. We really liked the style of the houses and, seeing how happy our friends were, we knew that this was something we wanted for ourselves.

“The whole process of moving has been busy but it all went really well and everyone at Keepmoat has been really helpful throughout. It was great to be asked to cut the ribbon for the show homes. We can add it all the wonderful memories we have already made and will make in our new home at Roman Fields.”
