Keepmoat supports Snapethorpe School with the help of the Rovers!

Keepmoat Homes has partnersed with the Featherstone Rovers Foundation rto support the delivery of some leadership qualifications near its housing developments in Wakefield.

15 Year 5 children from Snapethorpe Primary in Wakefield have been working with Rovers Foundation coaches to complete a Sports leaders UK ‘Playmaker’ award. The award has been delivered over six weeks and has covered the basics of sport leadership including:

  • Organisation for leading sport/ activity sessions
  • Health & Fitness; Fair play in sport
  •  The role of the official 
  • Opportunities in sport and recreation

The pupils will now be demonstrating their new leadership skills during playtimes at school where they will start small sided multi-sport games. The particpating children were recognised during a recent assembly and were presented their certificates by the Rovers mascot Percy the Pit Pony!

It has been great to develop the partnership with them  and Snapethorpe Primary and see the first group complete the award. The award has created the very start of the pathway in leadership for these young people."
