FROM THE A1(M) & DONCASTER:

Leave at Junction 37 and follow the A635 to Hickleton. Turn right after the crossroads sign-posted Hickleton Golf Club onto Lidgett Lane. Follow this road for 1.5 miles. Once under the railway bridge go straight on over the next two mini roundabouts. After the second roundabout turn second right up School Street. Continue uphill. The sales office is directly ahead after the large blue Willow Heights signs.

FROM THE M1 & BARNSLEY

Leave at Junction 36. Follow the A6195 Dearne Valley Parkway towards Doncaster. Stay on this road for 7 miles. At the Texaco roundabout at Darfield take the A635 towards Goldthorpe. At the Aldi roundabout take the second exit onto Barnsley Rd. Follow this for ¼ of a mile and at the traffic lights turn left onto Nicholas lane. After about 1 mile turn left at the mini roundabout onto Houghton Rd. School street is the second right turn. Continue uphill. The sales office is directly ahead after the large blue Willow Heights signs.

Shared Ownership

Buying a home is a big decision and one that requires a large investment. If you’re struggling to get onto the property ladder due to all the associated costs, a scheme such as shared homeownership could help make owning your dream home a reality.

The shared ownership scheme lowers the cost of buying a new property, making it easier for first-time buyers to get onto the property ladder.

How it works

Shared home ownership works through a housing association; you buy into a share of your home, usually between 25% and 75%, and then pay rent on the remaining amount.

With the shared ownership scheme, you are part buying and part renting a leasehold home. This means your lease gives you the right to occupy the home for a much longer period than with traditional renting. Usually, the lease on a leasehold ownership property is 99 or 125 years, but this doesn’t mean you’re tied to the home for this extended period – the home can still be bought or sold during this time. This gives you the freedom to sell and move if needed, but the additional assurance of owning part of your home and maintaining the rights to live there over a prolonged period.

With shared ownership, you still need a mortgage to purchase a share, however, as you’re not paying towards the full cost of the house, the amount of money you need for your deposit will be a lot lower.
