How to host an ‘eggcellent’ Easter egg hunt

As the weather (slowly) gets warmer and the days become longer - it means only one thing, Easter is just around the corner! What better way to celebrate than hosting your own Easter egg hunt?
At Keepmoat, we believe in bringing people together, and there’s no better way to connect with neighbours, friends, and family than with an eggcellent Easter event! In this blog post, we've got some helpful tips to make your Easter egg hunt stand out.
Planning your hunt
1. The perfect location
A local park, your back garden, or a spacious green area is key when planning an Easter egg hunt. You don’t need a huge garden to make an Easter egg hunt exciting, utilise the space you have whether this be a patio or a garden.
Many of our Keepmoat developments have access to green spaces that would be ideal for your Easter activities. Don’t forget to have a back-up plan ready, in case the weather forecast turns!
2. Get creative with your hiding spots
From flower beds, under benches, behind trees, or in plant pots - if you’re hosting an egg hunt for a range of ages, it’s great fun to pick hiding spots that have varying heights and difficulty!
3. A variety of treats
Why stick to just chocolate? Consider a selection of things to hide - children might prefer sweets or small toys whereas an adult themed hunt could include some fizz!
Spend time outside
Hosting an Easter egg hunt is about more than just chocolate and treats, it's a fantastic time to get outside with friends and family and make the most of the start of spring.
Spending time outdoors has been proven to lift our mood and improve wellbeing. At Keepmoat, we’re passionate about creating communities that embrace green spaces and encourage active living.
Bring the community together
An Easter egg hunt can be a wonderful way to meet new neighbours or catch up with old friends. Why not invite others from your street or housing estate?
At Keepmoat, we understand the importance of creating strong, connected communities. Hosting events like an Easter egg hunt can spark new friendships and make everyone feel at home.
Don't forget to take photos of your Easter egg hunt! We would love to see how you’re enjoying the Easter weekend. Share your own ideas using the hashtag #Keepmoat.
