Work starts to create 227 new homes in Wiltshire
Work has started in Warminster to deliver 227 new homes, representing a £50 million investment.
The housing scheme, now named Cley Hill View, will deliver a mixed tenure development including 113 affordable homes via a housing association. Keepmoat will also be investing more than £2 million in local infrastructure in addition to creating new public play areas, green spaces and pedestrian, road and cycle routes.
In support of Wiltshire Council’s West Warminster Urban Extension (WWUE) Strategic Housing Allocation, which aims to create 1,000 new homes and a new primary school, the site will transform a disused parcel of land off Victoria Road.
Ben Leather, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat South West, said: “At Keepmoat we’re dedicated to building communities and transforming lives - this significant investment into Warminster is testament to that commitment.
“The Keepmoat team is excited to deliver our latest scheme in the South West, which will also boost the local economy - particularly as this follows the recent establishment of a dedicated South West region, we have acquired 10 new developments - with five of these due to progress next year and five more in pre-development.”
The multi-tenure housing scheme will create one, two, three, and four-bedroom homes, catering to first-time buyers, working professionals and families.
In another commitment to supporting the local community, the South West divisional team sponsored Westbury FC, a local youth football club located near the new development.
