Keepmoat secures planning for 500 homes in Halebank
A major housing development is a step closer following planning approval from Halton Borough Council.
Keepmoat has committed to invest more than £116 million and create 500 high quality new homes on the site off Hale Gate Road.
Of the 500 homes, at least 20 percent of the homes will be delivered in partnership with a housing provider to create a range of affordable options, as well as future provision for a local centre and land safeguarded for a future primary school.
Transforming land formerly used for grazing, alongside the new homes the developer is also creating open green spaces, contributing to improvements with local footpaths and cycleways and working with local schools, colleges and businesses.
Katie Dean, Land & Partnerships Director at Keepmoat, North West, said: “This is a significant milestone in seeing much needed homes being built in the area and we’re thrilled to have secured the reserved matters permission for this important new development.
“At Keepmoat we’re committed to creating sustainable, multi-tenure communities that prioritise well designed neighbourhoods with high quality homes, green spaces and abundant connections into the existing footpath and cycle networks. We’ve benefitted by building on the blueprint of development which Harworth Estates set last year, and we’re genuinely looking forward to investing in the community and continuing our commitments in working in partnership with local stakeholders throughout the delivery.”
Keepmoat is also working with Halton Adult Learning Centre, Hale Bank Primary School and Riverside College in raising awareness of careers in construction and has invited students from the primary school to enter a competition to decide on the name of the development.
