Christmas Interior Trends Guide
With Christmas just around the corner, it's time to start thinking about decorating your home! A Christmas tree is personal, with so many decorations available, you can create a masterpiece that lets your personality shine through.
We’ve created a round-up of the top Christmas interior trends to give you some inspiration ahead of the festive season!
The return of nostalgia
When it comes to Christmas interiors, nostalgic decor is set to be a massive trend this year. Think bright pops of timeless green and red shades, candy canes, bunting, and multi-coloured tree lights.
Christmas can hold lots of great memories, so it's no surprise that vintage and nostalgic decorations are returning this year. For those with a more eclectic taste, an 90s theme is perfect, this can include sentimental baubles with family names on or ones lovingly decorated at school.
We chose handpainted baubles with mistletoe accents and traditional green paper lanterns to evoke that feeling of a nostalgic, traditional Christmas.
Berry, claret and red
Claret and burgundy are topping the market in fashion this season and this colour trio is now set to make its mark on interiors! Burgundy and claret-themed decor is on the rise, with bows, baubles, poinsettias and berry stems all set to be popular this Christmas alongside natural elements.
Perfect for minimalists who want to add a subtle touch to their decor, this trend will see berry garlands and wreaths make an appearance - a simple, yet fresh addition to any home.
Mini bouquets of berries also make a lovely accent when wrapping presents, to give the gifts under the tree that extra pop! Why not use brown wrapping paper to really let the burgundy ribbon, and berry bouquet shine– it's sure to impress!
Our home made stockings feature classic red accents against a traditional green hue with wooden details to incorporate the feel of nature.
Made with love
An evergreen Christmas trend set to make its mark in 2024, more and more people across the UK are moving to sustainable decor. Decorations made out of natural materials such as pine cones, wood, wool, and homemade ornaments in an earthy-toned colour palette are the perfect alternative for the eco-conscious.
Creating eco-friendly decorations has never been easier, consider collecting pine cones and wood to make personalised tree ornaments or you could opt for paper and card to create snowflake garlands and honeycomb effect baubles.
But if you’re feeling particularly crafty, why not use dried fruit, such as oranges, to make a garland or create your own cards for the perfect personal touch this festive season!
We've opted for wooden hearts and eclectic vintage glass ornaments along with wooden accents and hand carved keys as a nod to our customers getting the keys to their own Keepmoat home this Christmas.
Delightful doorscaping
Christmas curb appeal is predicted to be the ‘next big thing’ this winter, with wreaths emerging once again as a highly popular decoration choice. Door wreaths, porch garlands, durable props and fun lights are ideal for creating a festive atmosphere right on your doorstep.
A fantastic way to bring some Christmas cheer to outdoor spaces, it doesn't have to be elaborate or costly - just simple changes can bring curb appeal to your outdoor space!
Rember wreaths and garlands also look really effective indoors too. We created the perfect indoor decorative accents using artifical Christmas foliage with a wooden reindeer centre piece to really evoke the feeling of bringing the outdoors indoors.
Remember that there is no right or wrong way to decorate your home for the holidays, just make sure to enjoy the process.
