A variety of family homes, apartments and 300 sqm of commercial space.

In 2018 outline planning permission was granted on land south of Locking Head Drove, known as Parklands Village. The land which is owned by North Somerset Council, lies to the north of the former RAF Locking base, some 5km east of Weston-super-Mare. The site sits at the heart of the Weston Villages area, identified in North Somerset Council Planning Policy for redevelopment.

The outline permission established the principle of up to 700 new homes, together with employment, education, retail and community uses, as well as open space, new infrastructure and services.

In October 2020 Keepmoat were appointed by the council to bring forward the first phase of the site which comprises detailed proposals for 425 homes. The development will include a variety of family homes, apartments and 300 sqm of commercial space, set within high-quality landscaping and public realm and be a highly sustainable place to live, work and visit.

Keepmoat thereafter submitted to North Somerset Council in the form of a Reserved Matters Application which was prepared in keeping with the principles established by the outline planning permission.

Since that permission was granted, with the support of grant funding from Homes England, North Somerset Council has been building a North South Spine Road through Parklands Village, and the adjacent Locking Parklands development, as well as installing services and groundworks to help facilitate the housing and employment development.

The Development commenced in 2023 and the build is expected to complete in or around 2028/2029.
