Job description

We have an opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Group Legal & Compliance department on a fixed-term basis (for between 6 – 12 months), based from our head office in Doncaster with agile/hybrid working. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently graduated and is interested in pursuing a career in law, or who is due to start a training contract in the near future.


The key focus of the Paralegal will be to provide support for an existing “Know-Your-Supplier” programme in respect of carrying out KYS checks on the existing supplier base and supporting the Senior Legal Counsel in the continuous improvement programme for legacy and future KYS processes across the Keepmoat business. They will also be assisting the team in drafting and reviewing a variety of policy and process documents in respect of KYS compliance from an AML perspective.


This is an interesting and varied role as the Paralegal will also be involved in undertaking research and providing assistance on day-to-day supplier compliance queries, assisting the team with ensuring efficient and effective handling of the existing supplier base, and supporting the wider team on the proper tracking and recording of supplier compliance. 
 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a good standard of general education (a minimum of 5 A*-C/4-9 GCSE’s or equivalent) along with a desire to gain experience in the legal sector. They will need have full right to work in the UK with no sponsorship requirement.  


We are looking for someone with good time management skills, a responsive attitude and the ability to multitask. They will have excellent attention to detail and organisation skills with strong presentation skills, both written and verbally, including writing formally to stakeholders at different levels within the business. They will have confidence in interpreting and analysing data to make evidence-based findings. Proven experience within Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is essential.


Working knowledge of UK anti-money laundering or anti-fraud legislation and processes would be desirable, as would a bachelor’s degree in a legal, compliance or finance background.
