Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our Yorkshire East region, based from our Head Office in Doncaster with regular travel to our developments throughout the region. Reporting into the Construction Director, they will plan and build in a safe manner the budgeted number of houses for their developments in the most efficient cost-effective way, maximising profit and delighting the customer.
The Contracts Manager will lead and build a motivated and engaged team, developing existing team members by enabling and motivating them to be the best they can, and recruiting the right talent into the business when required. They will also assist with completing Talent Mapping and Succession Planning bi-annually to ensure we have secure upcoming levels of talent within the region.
Up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation, relevant local government understanding, along with experience of Partnership arrangements and up to date relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation are all key requirements for this role.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Confident oral and written communication skills.
- Financial and commercial awareness.
- Communicate effectively with all those who have a stake in the work.
- Effectively manage time in order to meet deadlines.
- Ability to negotiate and influence.
- Previous experience within contract management.
- Up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation.
- Experience of Partnership arrangements.
- Understanding of local government.
- Up to date relevant knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
- Level 6 in Site Management
