Architectural Technician - KMH/YW/370

Job description

Main purpose of the role

Reporting to the Technical Director the Technical Technician is a core role within the technical team and is the main contact hub with the Planning and NHBC Portals for the team, also the invoice tracking system and document management system controller to ensure a reliable and consistent approach is maintained with these vital systems.  Technical workload weekly team meeting notes and actions are also distributed.  Demonstrates strong relationships through ability to work cross functionally to achieve successful outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide architectural support and technical guidance for both regional office and site based operations
  • Preparation of working drawings and provide details for site operations and manage design details for bespoke units
  • Resolve, monitor where appropriate site queries to progress product development
  • Coordinate and manage various specialist suppliers and intergrate their requirements into the working drawings packages
  • Procure / produce architectural detailing where non-standard;
  • Procure Building Regulation approvals;
  • Ensure all customers are working with correct information;
  • Procure landscaping related surveys, designs and management plans;
  • Procure / produce information to assist the legal/sales team (deed plans etc)
  • Manage payments & budgets;
  • Ensure the quality of architectural information provided both internally and externally is of the highest standards

Skills, knowledge & experience

  • Excellent level of numeracy and skilled in verbal and written comms
  • High level of computer literacy in MS Office

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent architectural knowledge – particularly house types
  • Proven track record of delivering Building Control approvals
  • Experience of planning, organising and prioritising own workload
  • Confident with ability to communicate and influence at all levels
  • Self-motivated

Desirable:

  • Assisting in the preparation of drawings, reports, visualisations, schedules and specifications.
  • Working as part of a team, assisting on development of design proposals
  • Assisting in the preparation of drawings, reports, visualisations, schedules and specifications.
  • Coordinating designs with other members of the team.

Education & qualifications

Essential:

  • HNC /HND / Degree in Building, Civil Engineering or Architectural design
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD
