National Wellness Month

August is National Wellness Month, dedicated to promoting self-care, stress management, and healthy routines. As we reach the second half of the year, it’s important to take time to reflect and de-stress in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Identifying small habits to include in your daily routine can be a great way to prioritise wellness.
In this blog post, we'll explore how to celebrate National Wellness Month and ways to incorporate healthy living habits into your home life.
Exercise and mindfulness
Exercise is one of the best ways to improve physical and mental wellbeing. Try to set aside 15-30 minutes a few times a week to exercise, whether that be a mindful walk or an at-home workout.
It’s also key to set aside time to practise mindfulness through habits such as meditation, journaling, or yoga. These activities have an array of benefits, such as boosting concentration and promoting a calm mindset, and don’t require too much time from your day.
Why not try setting up a yoga mat in your living room, or a space of zen in the back garden to enjoy some soft stretching? Exercise improves sleep, stress management, energy levels, mood and confidence, which are all key factors in maintaining overall health.
Self care
Self care can play a vital part in improving overall wellness. Through small indulgences like taking a relaxing bath, reading a good book, or simply spending time in nature, can significantly impact our mental health.
Self care is a necessary aspect of maintaining a healthy and balanced life. In the spirit of National Wellness Month, it’s time to make a conscious effort to incorporate self care practices into daily routines, nurturing our physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
Spending time in clean, tidy places whilst relaxing is a great way to incorporate self care into your daily routine. Your interiors can hugely impact mood and energy, so it might be time to invest in some paint!
Taking up a new hobby
Do you have a hobby in mind that you've never gotten around to taking up? Taking time out of your week to learn a new skill is crucial for stress management and mental wellbeing. Setting aside time in your week to focus on something new allows your brain to switch off from daily life and immerse yourself in something fresh.
Whether it's trying a new sport, learning an instrument, or taking up a hobby that can be enjoyed from home such as arts and crafts, hobbies are a great way to uncover new skills and have fun!
We hope you find this blog post helpful and are inspired to incorporate healthy practices into your day to day life – whether you’re starting a new hobby or going on a run, share your photos and top tips ahead of National Wellness Month using the hashtag #KeepmoatHomes, we’d love to see your posts!
