About Wakefield

This collection of modern and stylish homes lies in the established residential setting of Lupset, just 2.5 miles west of Wakefield city centre. A quiet, yet well-connected place to live, it provides the ideal location for everyone from first times buyers and growing families to savvy downsizers.

With everything you need, so close to home, including local shops, large supermarkets, gyms, leisure centres and so much more, life at Elm Tree Park offers the last word in convenience. Plus, being on the edge of the city mean you’re close to everything it has to offer too.

In Wakefield you’ll find Trinty Walk. It has over 70 of your favourite stores, plus lots of places to eat and drink. The Ridings is also in the city and has lots of stores to choose from and a food court. If you fancy a bargain, Junction 32 with its brilliant outlet stores is a short drive away. And don’t forget, Leeds, Sheffield and even Manchester are easy to get to by car or train from Elm Tree Park.

Closer to home, Pugneys Water sports Centre and Country Park is just a few minutes from your door. And there’s so much to do here, including a wide range of water sports for all ages and abilities. Or if you’d prefer to stay dry, you can walk around the stunning lake, spot the wildlife along the woodland trail, explore the 250 acre country park by bike or even take a short walk up the hill to Sandal Castle. The view from here is well worth the effort.

Wakefield itself is a unique melting pot of arts and culture. The birth place of two of the UK’s most celebrated sculptors, Dame Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore, their artistic influence can be seen in and around the city. The world-class and award-winning gallery, The Hepworth Wakefield is nearby. And if you prefer to combine art with a walk in the great outdoors, the nearby Yorkshire Sculpture Park is the perfect place for you.

The ideal location for growing families, there’s a great choice of schools in the area. Snapethorpe Primary is just a few minute’s walk away, plus English Martyrs Catholic Primary School and South Parade Primary are nearby too. For older children, Horbury Academy and Cathedral Academy are quick and easy to get to.

Great transport links make this location perfect for exploring the region and beyond. In just 20 minutes you can be in the centre of Leeds. Sheffield in 40 minutes and Manchester in just over an hour. Huddersfield, Halifax and Bradford are all within  easy reach too.

With so many great towns and cities, so simple to get to, there’s always something to do. But there’s more to this part of Yorkshire than shops, bars and attractions. Some of the region’s most stunning and famous countryside is nearby. With the Yorkshire Dales to the north and the Peak District National Park to the south, if you love the great outdoors, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
