After a five year wait, it’s time to kick off the Euros! If you’re going to be watching some of the matches from home and fancy rustling up a quick healthy snack during the half time, why not give the recipes below a try?

Give Recipe has shared three simple ideas with us that you can whip up in under 20 minutes. They’re a little different to your usual crisps and dips and will have you and your household drooling through the dribbling and going back for more after every goal.

Creamy hummus with a spicy oil drizzle

  • 1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 2/3 cup of water or more if needed
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup tahini

Optional topping:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • ¼ tsp sumac
  • ¼ tsp sesame seeds

  1. Put chickpeas and water in a good processor and blend until they are mashed.
  2. Add in garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, cumin and tahini. Blend until smooth. Add more water if needed for a creamy result.
  3. Taste and make adjustments. Add more salt, lemon juice or tahini depending on your taste.
  4. Transfer the hummus to a bowl.
  5. To make the optional topping, heat olive oil in a saucepan over low heat. Add in paprika and stir. Remove from the heat after 15 seconds.
  6. Drizzle the hot oil sauce over the hummus. Sprinkle chopped parsley, sumac and seeds. Serve with pita or chips.
