What Home Means

Home is such a versatile word and means different things to different people. If you look up the word in the dictionary, it’s a place where you live, but we know it’s much more than that! For some it’s a place that meets and adapts to their ever-changing needs and for others, it’s the place where they feel most secure, spending time with loved ones.

We asked some of our customers what home means to them and here are some of our favourite answers:

Home to me means comfort. Somewhere you feel safe and loved with the people who mean the most. Home is the place where you can be yourself and enjoy the little things.

Some of my favourite times at home are date nights with my husband. On a Friday evening we usually cook a lovely meal together and have a movie night. This is always a good way to unwind after a long week of working. Home is where some of my most precious memories are made. Now more than ever I have realised there really is no place like home.

Home means getting creative in the kitchen and making sure everybody leaves you a slice at the end of it!

Our home is the place where we got engaged, the place where we first brought our little boy, the place we can completely be ourselves and the place we’re making our own. It’s the place we wake up in a morning and can’t wait to get back to in the evening. Our home is a place our family will grow and most importantly it’s a place that’s all ours!

For me, home is the place where I know I can truly relax. It's the place where the stretchy pants go on, and the bra comes off! There's something about walking through our front door that lets me know I'm right where I need to be, and that it's time to put my feet up and wind down.

Especially in these bizarre times, it's a place to feel safe and happy, and that I rarely feel bored of. It's my little haven from the rest of the world, and I'm so glad I have it.

After a busy day, I love coming home. It’s a place to recharge and relax – with a hot chocolate in bed, so that I’m ready for the following day. One of my favourite home comforts is the entire drawer I have dedicated to snacks in my kitchen! It’s those little things that really make a house a home. I love Saturday mornings, putting my favourite music on in the kitchen and dancing around whilst I make breakfast!

Home to me is the freedom to decorate each room however I like and really let my creativity fly! It’s incredibly rewarding seeing your ideas and imagination come to life in your own space. There is a place for everything, and everything is in its’ set place. An organised home = an organised mind.

Lastly my home is a safe place, for myself and for my family and friends. I love that I have somewhere for my friends and family to come to if they ever need some space or just a good catch up over a cup of tea and a mountain of biscuits!
