Keepmoat Homes appointed for second phase of Carr Lodge

01 August 2019

Homes England, the government’s housing agency, has announced today that it has appointed developer Keepmoat to deliver 460 new homes at Carr Lodge in Doncaster, including apartments and two, three and four bedroom houses at the site.

This second phase of development will feature both traditionally built homes and 202 homes created using modern methods of construction (MMC)

Keepmoat will work with modular housing company Ilke to deliver the MMC properties, which will be manufactured at Ilke’s factory in Knaresborough before being transported to Carr Lodge where each home will be put in place.

Twenty five per cent of properties at the second phase of the development will be available for affordable rent, 16 per cent for private rent and eight per cent for shared ownership.

Alan Sears, Senior Specialist, Accelerated Delivery for Homes England said: “We want to work with partners who share our ambition to build better homes faster.

“Keepmoat are committed to adopting MMC to deliver much needed, high quality homes at Carr Lodge and we look forward to seeing the second phase of this new community for Doncaster take shape.”

The scheme is part of a wider development on land owned by Homes England at Carr Lodge, where the first phase of development was completed by Keepmoat in 2016.

Ian Hoad, Divisional Chairman at Keepmoat Homes said: “We’re pleased to be working with our partner Ilke Homes to bring modern methods of construction to our Carr Lodge development. The opportunity modern methods such as modular construction brings to the industry is additionality. This will help us meet Government’s challenge of delivering more good quality homes, faster.”

Dan Crew, Regional Managing Director at Keepmoat Homes added: “We have worked closely with Ilke Homes since it was created to shape the house designs to meet the needs of our customers. We brought two modular homes to the first phase of our Carr Lodge development and are excited to be bringing a further 202 modular homes to the second phase of this development and to be creating new homes in Doncaster.”

It’s anticipated the first homes at phase will be completed by the end of 2019.
