About Leeds
The local area
Conveniently located in Wortley with a good choice of supermarkets, shops and takeaways nearby, Aspire is also just 3 miles from Leeds city centre bursting with life and cultural energy and reknowned for its shopping, arts and entertainment facilities. However, quietly tucked away in Swallow Crescent, overlooking the wide green open spaces of West Leeds, Aspire also offers a feeling of space and tranquillity allowing you to enjoy the solitude whenever you want it. This really is an amazing place to live!
Nearby Town Street is the local hub for the community. Here you’ll find everything you need day-to-day. There’s a range of shops, Post Office, Bank and more. Your local leisure centre is less than a mile or 14 minute walk away. With a pool, gym, courts for badminton, basketball, netball, five-a-side football and more, there’s no shortage of things to do in your spare time.
Although easy access to Leeds is a great feature of Aspire, you don’t always have to head into the city for great shopping, dining and entertainment. White Rose Shopping Centre is just over a 10 minute drive away. Here there are over 120 shops, from your high street favourites to fantastic independents. Plus, The Village Leisure Centre has an 11 screen IMAX cinema, a great choice of restaurants and a great outdoor childrens' play area – so there are always lots of reasons to pop in for an hour - or the day!
A great location for families, there’s a good choice of schools in the area. Whingate Primary, Ryecroft Academy, Five Lanes Primary and Lower Wortley Primary are all a short walk away. For older children, Dixons Unity Academy is just a few minutes’ walk away and the much-accredited Farnley Academy is just over a mile away.
Out and about
One of the many advantages of a location such as this is the choice of leisure, entertainment and attractions nearby. From Leeds favourites such as Roundhay Park, Harewood House and the Royal Armouries to the National Science and Media Museum in Bradford, there’s always something to do.
And it’s not all about city living. It’s easy to enjoy the great outdoors here too. Post Hill Nature Trail is just a mile away. A designated Leeds Nature area, this two-mile trail follows the beck and woodland, leading you into the wide green spaces of Farnley Hall Park, part of the West Leeds Country Park and Green Gateways.
Wortley Beck, just behind the development is great for walks and provides a green oasis in the suburbs. And nearby parks, such as Western Flatts Cliff Park and Wortley Recreation Ground provide great spaces to enjoy the fresh air and stretch your legs.
