Scheme: Refurbishment scheme of 24,000 properties

Client: Wolverhampton Homes

Description: Frank Haslam Milan are one of three partners currently working with Wolverhampton Homes to deliver their £228m refurbishment scheme of 24,000 properties owned by Wolverhampton City Council over a five year period. This essential work will ensure homes reach the Governments Decent Homes Standard by 2012 & create a brighter future for local tenants.

The extensive programme of refurbishment includes full kitchen & bathroom replacement, central heating replacement & full re-wiring of properties. While external works include soffit, fascias, rainwater goods, roof repairs & envelope works to non-traditional properties.

Frank Haslam Milan are fully committed to working in areas that genuinely need transformation, helping to take places where people would not necessarily choose to live & turn them into thriving communities. However, this can only be achieved with the support & involvement of the communities in which we work. We not only focus on home improvements but also on opportunities for employment, training & social inclusion. Across the Decent Homes Scheme we have recruited 30 apprentices & trainees in Year 1 of the scheme & have a target of ensuring that 15% of the workforce are from BME groups.
