A group of Sheffield youngsters learned to have fun and keep fit, thanks to a free sports programme sponsored by Bramall Construction.
Thirty children aged between five and eleven took part in the week-long programme of activities, organised by Kiveton-based social enterprise Active Regen.
The aim of the multi-sports sessions, which took place at Manor Lodge and Wybourn Primary Schools, is to encourage youngsters to get active and stay healthy.
Active Regen's coaches work with the children to develop their confidence and sporting skills, as well as emphasising the importance of working well as a team and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Kezia, aged 10, from Park Hill, said: "This week's been great. I love doing lots of sports. My favourites this week have been rounders and kick cricket."
Matt, aged 10, from Manor, added: "I've really enjoyed taking part in the sports programme. It's given me a chance to get out of the house and play with my friends."
Bramall is currently working with Pennine Housing 2000, a member of the Together Housing Group, to carry out refurbishment works to homes in Manor Park, as well as environmental improvement works in the area through parent company Keepmoat.
Site Manager, John Darwen, took a break from site to join in a game of rounders with the children during a session at Manor Lodge.
Craig Stevens, Operations Manager at Bramall Construction, said: "We are delighted that the youngsters enjoyed the activities.
"At Bramall, we are always looking for ways to give something back to the communities in which we work. Sports programmes, such as those run by Active Regen, bring a wide range of real and long-lasting benefits to the children who take part."
Active Regen is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to tackle social and economic issues through sport and physical activity.
Gary Whitaker, Managing Director of Active Regen, said: "We have worked with Bramall Construction on a number of community initiatives. Their support has been excellent and demonstrates their commitment to improving the lives of people from some of the most deprived communities across the country.
"In the current financial climate, where funding for community programmes is difficult to source, Bramall has remained committed to their programme of community activities, along with their construction projects, helping to provide much needed services. "
